ARDP Library Interface Description (Version 1)

This page describes the enhancements for the ARDP v1 API (Application Programmer Interface). Read it with the ARDP v0 API.

The major contribution to the ARDP v1 API is the new security API here.

Function calls added for v1 implementation.

Configurable parameters in the ardp_config structure added for v1 implementation.

• int my_receive_window_size The default receive window size. To override this for a particular connection, set the window_sz member of the associated RREQ structure.

• char *server_redirect_to string: hostname and optional port number Indicates we should call ardp_redirect() as soon as we get any packet from a client.
• int preferred_ardp_version (client only) To override this for a particular connection, set the peer_ardp_versionmember of the associated RREQ structure. Do this before you initiate the connection.
• char * server_principal_name (server only) In Kerberos, this is the name of the service that the server presents. For instance, for the Kerberos principal:
  nari.isi.edu/sample@ISI.EDU
  this will actually be the string 'sample'. The name of this is unfortunate and might be changed later.

  This is the server's principal name in a security system such as Kerberos or X-509. (This will need to be defined differently in the rare case that you are running two different security systems at the same time).

• char *kerberos_srvtab (server only) This is the file where the Kerberos server's srvtab is.
